Social Trap...or something more?

Scenario: A group of people have recently heard the news that a videogame that they are excited for will include downloadable content at a later date. They claim that they will wait for the "Game of the Year Edition". However, the "GOTY" will only be available if the game sells enough units within the first few months. The group of people decide not to buy the original version of the game. As an effect, the game does not attain enough sales to warrant a "GOTY" edition, and thus does not get released as said version.

Is this a social trap?

What would have happened if half (or all) of them bought the game at its release?

Scenario: A time traveler goes back in time to change an event in the past. A person in the past becomes aware of this event and attempts to reverse the change.

Is this the grandfather paradox, or something else?

In theory, the actions done by the person in the past would be irrelevant because whatever the person in the future has done will have already been done, irrefutably, and irreversibly. Therefore, it does not matter what the person in the past does, the sequence of events would have already happened, and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

The Flaw of Perfection

The night beckons to me after an eventful evening with friends. I don't wish to give it up. But I am tired...

They say that if you are attempting to express your emotion through words, try to find the simplest way with which to express them. I find this to be true. After all, what is the use of complicated vocabulary if you are not able to express your point any more clearly? There is a fine line between hubris and creation.

The clock is ticking away. Try to find an algorithm that will explain any given behavior, and you in turn will come to the realization that there is no such thing. We see only what supports our views on reality. We live only as how we view life. That is the fundamental flaw in the design. The trickster in the assembly. The joker in the deck of aces.

Find me the face of the world and you will come to the realization that the face of your existence is by no means  a face that you are familiar with. We are so used to seeing things in what we perceive as "perfection" yet we fail  to realize that the only true perfection is the beauty of imperfection. A perfect diamond holds less value than a diamond in the rough...

Keep these words in mind as they will allow you to take into light a new perspective: You are not perfect. Nothing you do will ever be perfect. What others say of you, of how perfect you are, they are all lies. However, these lies of your perfection are quite possibly the closest thing to a truth that we have. You are not perfect, nor should you be. There is perfection to be found in the imperfect, the glistening jewel within the anomaly. That is why you should not want to be perfect. It is the worst thing to be. The various "perfections" that others may label will ultimately define imperfection, as it is a never-ending vicious cycle. Embrace it and your imperfections will define perfection.

The hands of the clock race away against my fingers. Parting words are of note: Take into account the fact that you will not have a lasting impression on this world. That is irrelevant. What is relevant, however, is the idea that you, yourself, will have an impact on your own life. After all, is that not the only reason worth living for?
