Back to School

Sorry guys, I haven't posted nearly anything at all during the summer. I was too busy playing games. Yes, that's my only excuse. Truth be told, I didn't do anything this entire summer. From the moment I got up every day, I would turn on my computer and stay there until the end of the day. This process repeated during the two and a half months of summer. I'll try to keep you guys posted, but really I don't think too many people read these things, and I usually don't have anything worthwhile to add on to here. Nonetheless, I will try, but since school has started, I might get even less time than I had. This summer went by so quickly, it seems as if no time had passed. But alas, all good things must come to an end, and it has.

It's back to school again.

The End of the Steam Sales

The Steam "Summer Camp" sale has come to a close, and with it goes a lot of the amazing deals for this online gaming service. It has gone, but it has left it's mark. I started off the sale without really any plans on buying anything since I had no credit card. The first day went...and I saw Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with all the DLC content for it...for only 9 dollars. That's right. 9...DOLLARS.

I couldn't believe it. I was stunned. I was flabergasted. I was feeling things for Steam that I never thought I would feel for an online gaming service. Looking on, I saw that Oblivion wasn't the only deal that they had. I saw the GTA Collection (GTA, GTA II, GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas) for only 7 dollars.

Immediately, I began to panic. What if these deals run out? I knew they weren't going to last forever, but I was helpless to do anything. Sullenly, I looked on from afar as the deals waved their hands in my face tantalizingly. 

Thankfully, a friend was there in the nick of time. 

Later that night, I was playing some Team Fortress 2 (released FREE on Steam) when I started chatting with one of my friends. Eventually the conversation led on to the Steam summer sales. I told him that he should check out the sales. Unfortunately I couldn't buy anything, I said jokingly to him. That's when he had the idea. He was going to buy the games, gift them to me, and I could just pay him back later. I couldn't believe my luck.

YES!!!!!!!!

I was going to be able to get in on the action. It was a simple matter. I had the money, but in cash, and I could easily give my friend the money to pay him back. It took a while, but through the ten days of the Steam summer sale, I managed to download a "bucket"-ful of games and their numerous mods (which most are almost like full games).

In the end, I ran to the total of 7 games and 5 mods (and counting):

I sure will miss this deal, but all good things must end sometime. Now please excuse me while I go frag some aliens in UT2k4.

New pc

I just got a new computer, thanks to my dad. It's a Gateway DX4850 with 8 gigs of RAM, 1.5 terrabyte hard-drive, 3.2 gigahertz processor, and an Nvidia GeForce graphics card. I can finally run Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Vietnam on maximum settings. I'm going to try World at War on this beast at some point. It's so awesome! Thanks dad.

New thoughts

I found out something new about myself today. I am content with dreaming. I'm content to watch as other people achieve their dreams, while I keep on dreaming. I do nothing about my dreams. But yet...there is a time when waiting is the best choice, right? I don't want to rush into things right now...especially right now.

Friday afternoon

I'm typing this while I wait for a download to finish. I plan on pulling another all-nighter tonight. It sucks because I left my phone at school. I have to get it back on Monday.

I'm downloading Forsaken World, a game made by Perfect World Interactive. It's supposed to be like an opposite of Perfect World, which I've already downloaded. I remember downloading and playing Perfect World some three years ago. That was when I literally had roughly around fifty games on my computer. Then one day, my computer wouldn't turn on properly. It just kept beeping. So we cleared out and rebooted the computer. It would be two years before I would figure out how to solve the problem of the computer beeping. There was simply too much dust on the memory chips.

So now here we are, and I decided to give Perfect World another chance. I now have three different MMORPGs on my pc: Runes of Magic, Allods Online, and Perfect World. All three of them are really good games, but I'm a really low level in all three. Still, MMORPGs are something that I enjoy. I don't know why. Maybe I've been playing too many first-person shooters (too much Call of Duty). It was time for a break. Nevertheless, I'm here now.

I'm downloading Forsaken World. Hopefully it should finish in a bit. I can't wait to play. It looks really good, a darker version of Perfect World. I just hope that my computer can handle it.

I'm getting a laptop soon...hopefully. Maybe. I'm not sure.

I'm back

Hey guys, I haven't posted anything here in a while, mostly because nothing much has really happened in a while, and also because finals is coming up. On that note, I have a final exam tomorrow for my Human Geography class, and THE AP exam on Friday (this exam on Friday will determine whether or not I get the college credits). So yeah. Lots of pressure right now.Lots.

Feeling a Bit...Nerdy

Okay, I admit it. I don't have THE BEST social life in the world. In fact, my Friday nights consist of sitting in front of the computer, either wasting my time on YouTube, or just reading random things on the Internet. Obviously I don't go to parties and get high and get wasted. Obviously.

But then again, I'm not a COMPLETE nerd. I'm a hybrid, I guess. I sometimes go around with friends or hang outside of my house instead of going on the computer the whole time. Don't worry, I'm getting there.

Remember how I said before that I've been playing a lot more RPG's lately? I haven't? Well I have been. They're fun. Anyway, I've been trying out some MMORPG's, namely "4Story" and "Runes of Magic" (both are completely FREE to play by the way).

4Story is an MMORPG developed by ZEMI interactive and it's actually the first MMORPG of it's kind: the kind where you go around, killing stuff in the style made immensely popular by WoW (World of Warcraft). That being said, it was released in Europe before WoW, and later released in a Global version. That, again, being said, 4Story has many, many, many problems that are expected with the first of anything.

But it's been 6 years. Wait, more than that. It's been more than 6 years, and the quality of the content still hasn't increased too much. Wait, what am I saying. I've played only up to level 20 (I'm an Assassin by the way). Not even. Level 19, there.

After playing this game for a few weeks (or a total of a few days with my friends), we've decided that the game is too buggy and filled with spelling errors and mundane content to continue playing. So we slowly moved away. Well, maybe. I still have it on my computer. I'm still kind of interested in what this game has to offer, even if it is just to kill a two-headed dragon.

The second FREE MMORPG that my friends and I tried out is called "Runes of Magic". This game blew my expectations out of the water. This is me coming away from 4Story. Runes of Magic (or RoM) is amazing, especially for a free2play game. The quests have VARIETY. The classes are INTERESTING to play. The enemies make SENSE. There are no spelling ERRORS. You even have the ability to choose two classes, and play as both at the same time, definitely something that makes this game unique.

My only gripe is the intensity of the game's graphics. They're good. So good that my PC has a hard time running the thing. I need to upgrade my graphics card and RAM. Will you guys remind me to do that?
